Richard Wheeler's guest house in Almora

Jug Suraiya is a prominent Indian journalist, author and columnist. He is best known as a satirist and columnist. Suraiya is a former Editorial Opinion Editor and Associate Editor of the Times of India.

He is Delhi-based and schooled at La Martiniere Calcutta.
Jug had spent time at Richard Wheelers guest house and later wrote about his visit. After reading Jug's blog on his visit I found Richard's website and phone number.
www.ylog.org
Crystal clean air, smelling crisply of cedar and pine; storybook blue skies; and a breathtaking panorama of glittering white snow peaks. All this, combined with the mellow charm of a century-old stone house, is what Deodars offers you.

Henry Rodrigues

Mr Henry Rodrigues was a great human being. He left school end of 1969(?) to look after his mother who lived in Bangalore. The book he holds up in the pic Bright Renown, by old Martinian Satish Bhatnagar, indicates that he was alive in 1995. That's when the book was published. The caption with the pic received from Jumbo Roberts says c1990s. Jumbo has done a great job circulating Mart pictures, some really ancient.
It is said that Roddo, lived a very frugal existence towards the latter part of his life. Some old Martinians had, I am told, tried to help him but it's not known whether it was received by him.
